ABOUT THE BRAND

GmbH was founded 2016 in Berlin by Serhat Isik and Benjamin A. Huseby, as a project using the craft of garment making for storytelling, and to respond to current events in the world. GmbH quickly gained cult status for their strong silhouettes, mixing elements of German workwear with high-fashion references, making garments that both accentuate and protect the body, always interwoven with their heritage as children of immigrants.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION

GmbH’s latest collection “Doppelgänger” is inspired by the music and subcultures of Berlin, specifically those of the 1980s. Wide shoulders, cinched waists, and high-rise pleated trousers echo both the toughness of Berlin’s industrial and post-punk movement, and the softness and comfort of 1980s Italian tailoring. Every material in the collection was considered for its tactility; soft materials appear hard through construction and finishings. Highlight pieces include faux fur bombers with Edwardian sailor collars, faux fur robes with shawl collars, as well as fitted henley shirts paired with wide pleated floor-length skorts. This collection is also a revisiting of GmbH’s beginnings, as it is the ultimate before the label’s ten-year anniversary.
